Getting started
Install Kiaalap 4 and run its Bootstrap 5 education dashboard.
Last updated October 13, 2026
Kiaalap 4 is a free, MIT-licensed Bootstrap 5 education admin template with 63 pages and vanilla JavaScript. It is a frontend template: connect your backend for authentication, submissions, payments and persistent data.
Requirements
Use Node.js 24.8+ (recommended) or 22.22+, and npm 10+. The repository includes .nvmrc for Node 24 and a lockfile for reproducible installation.
Install and run
git clone https://github.com/puikinsh/kiaalap.git
cd kiaalap
nvm use
npm ci
npm run dev
The development server opens at http://localhost:3000. If you download the ZIP instead, extract it, enter the kiaalap directory and run the same npm commands. Opening the source HTML directly does not render Handlebars partials.
Check and build
npm run check
npx playwright install chromium
npm run test:browser
npm audit
npm run preview
The production build is generated in dist/. npm run check validates JavaScript and CSS, checks SCSS formatting and compilation, runs unit tests, builds all pages, validates rendered HTML and checks local assets and the shared JavaScript size budget. Browser tests cover all 63 pages and key interactions; they stub external demo imagery and map tiles.
Create your first page
npm run page:new -- attendance
Edit attendance.html, add a link in src/partials/sidebar.hbs, and restart the development server. Page titles and breadcrumbs can be customized in src/config/pages.js. See Adding a page.
